We are a cellular and systems neuroscience lab located in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in the University at Buffalo.
The lab is interested in the synaptic organization of thalamocortical and corticothalamic interactions and the dynamics of these interactions during perception and motor behavior. Our overall goal is to bridge the cellular/synaptic level with the systems level to understand how diverse circuits in the cortex and thalamus shape the flow of neural signals throughout the brain.
Our aspiration is that this work will also provide insight into the pathophysiology of psychiatric and neurological disorders such as autism, schizophrenia, and Parkinson’s disease.
